Heading to the North Myrtle Beach area this fall? We have a few new fun events to tell you about. October is a great time to be here. Locals are back to work and school, the crowds have thinned out, and the weather is still nice enough for the beach. Staying in one of our North Myrtle Beach vacation rentals keeps your family close to the fun. Here are three events worth adding to your trip.

If your family plans vacations around food, add this to the calendar. The Fall Taste of The Market Common is Saturday, October 10th, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. You can buy tickets at the ticket booths on the day of the event; they’re $1 each, cash only. Each tasting costs 1 to 5 tickets, so bring plenty of cash. You’ll find more than 40 appetizerzers, entrees, desserts, and specialty items from Market Common restaurants, which makes it easy to try a little of everything.
The Little River ShrimpFest lands on the same weekend, Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Historic Little River Waterfront. Admission is $10, and kids 12 and under get in for free. The event features two stages of live music, stilt walkers, balloon artists, a Kids Zone, and more than 200 vendors. Local waterfront restaurants serve shrimp and fresh seafood, so come hungry. This event will run rain or shine, and pets are not allowed unless they are working service animals. Since the Fall Taste is also on Saturday, you could do Market Common that day and save ShrimpFest for Sunday.

BooFest! is a family favorite that returns every year to Barefoot Landing. It’s Saturday, October 24th, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and it’s free. Kids and pets can enter the costume contests, and registration opens at 11:00 am. You’ll also find costumed stilt walkers and vendor booths with activities for the kids. If you’re staying through Halloween, Barefoot Landing also does Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 31st from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with participating merchants.
There’s plenty more happening around here in October, but these are the ones we wanted to pass along. If you haven’t booked your fall getaway yet, check out our North Myrtle Beach vacation rentals. We’d love to have you and the family stay with us this fall.
