Summit 1B - Oceanfront - Windy Hill Section

This was a great location, nice building, & we really wanted to like this place. But unfortunately there was a terribly musty odor that hit you in the face the moment you opened the front door of this unit. We assumed it just needed to be aired out because it hadn't been used in awhile, but when we saw the 2 dehumidifiers in guest rooms shut off because the basins were completely full of water, and DampRid bags hanging totally FULL of water in every closet, we knew where the musty odor was coming from. Then when we took showers the next day we found copious black mold in the master bathroom shower & vent. I have let North Beach Mgmt know about the issue and they were very apologetic, kind, and helpful in getting a discount for us. But it is unlikely that we will be staying in this particular unit again.

I’d like to start off with thanking North Beach vacations for NOT having those stupid “service fees” or “processing fees” you find out about when you are checking in. I was in and out within 90 seconds with 2 sets of keys, parking passes and a smile on my face. My first impressions of the room was clean and very nice. All the furniture was in good condition, and the decor was nice. There is a tv in the living room and master bedroom, I suggest you bring a device (fire stick, Roku etc) if you plan on watching tv. The WiFi worked with no issues. All the bathrooms were very nice, the beds were comfortable. I really like the mirrors in the living room and kitchen it’s a really nice touch. If I had to find a con I’d say the water could be a little hotter in the shower. Other than that I can’t complain.

The appliances are very dated. The stove only works on high . The fridge wouldn’t close all the way. There was very few pots and pans. The place needed a very thorough cleaning! Dust on the glass shelves and dishes on them. The ac didn’t work and had to be replaced during our stay! Was told they would move us to another unit. We packed up our bags and waited for a call to tell us where we were going and instead of moving us they brought portable units and put in two bedrooms and one in the living room. They had to use the sliding glass door to vent it and leaving it unusable so everyone had to go through our bedroom to get to the balcony! The inconvenience was awful! Wasn’t able to use the kitchen for two days while the unit was being installed. We had to go out and eat, wasn’t planning on it. We bought groceries to cook in our kitchen. The portable units were not picked up until Thursday. Once the work started on the ac we saw roaches. No it wasn’t a great vacation! Strangers in & out of place for 4days. Was never really able to relax and enjoy it!

The rental is in a great location. After that there’s not much to be excited about. The WiFi was not working had to have the contractor come in to fix. Our stay was during tropical storm Debby lots of wind and rain, sliding glass door leaked water under the door as it was not sealed soaking the carpet the width of the door 2 feet into living room. Power lost to living room due to water in the wall outlet. Another call to the handyman, who did a great job fixing the problem. Cookware and utensils in very rough shape had to purchase some to cook. The unit has potential, the owner just needs to start putting some money into upgrades. The island in the kitchen is falling apart. All things considered I would give this unit 2 stars mostly due to the cost and location.

The location of this unit was perfect. The furniture needs updated, the unit needs dusted, the skillet was rusty and for a non smoking unit, it smelled like smoke. The pool and view were fantastic!

The condo had plenty of room for our party of 5. It was clean and comfortable. Beautiful sweeping views of the beach and ocean. Wonderful outdoor balcony with lots of room. It would have been nice to have had an extra roll of toilet paper per bathroom and paper towels for kitchen. It would have been nice to have had a box of tissues in bathroom to remove makeup. The only negative was my wife not feeling well and lying down in bed. Loud knocking noise was heard. She thought someone had forgot their room key. Upon getting up to check there was a man on a ladder using a hammer. He said a woman let him in. It was not one of our party. It would have been nice to have been notified of an upcoming maintenance project. It was unsettling to get up and find a stranger in our room.

I will start by saying we had a great vacation, despite the condo. The first night we had to purchase vans because the AC wasn’t cooling. The emergency number was used and there was someone out there on a Sunday ensuring it got fixed and it did. The ac unit had a filter that was so old and another one and the same state beside it. The carpet in the unit on the surface looks vacuumed but is so dirty that the tops of my granddaughters feet were black from crawling on it. The kitchen island wobbles so bad we were in fear of it simply falling over and you could see where someone had wedged cardboard to try and stabilize it. The fans in the bathroom were so loud and sounded like they would break any moment. Master shower has no water pressure and you had to dance around to ensure you were clean. You had to hold the flush down on the toilet to be sure the toilet didn’t just run. Sliding glass doors do not open and close as they should. The sofa needs a professional cleaning and the stuffing in places are just gone. The amount of money and fees to stay a week is outrageous for the condition this condo is in. We come every year and it was just disappointing.

The condo was easy to access. The information said, one roll paper towels there were none, small bottle dish soap and dishwasher tablets there were none. There was toilet paper. One bathroom cabinet door is broke also towel hanger tore off wall.. The beds and all very comfortable. Just needs some repairs. Wasn’t real clean either

The condo was great! It was everything we wanted. The parking was not so great, but I understand that there is not much can be done about this. I was told that the building was a secured property but it is not. The key pad was disabled 24/7 or it was broken.

This property is just steps from the beach. Great Location and a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony. When we first arrived it smelled a little musty, but after awhile not so much. It was as described. The kitchen countertop appliances could be updated. We had to be out by 10am. I would liked to have until 11. Overall I was very satisfied and I would definitely go back.

Overall the stay was good for our first time in North Myrtle Beach. I would give it a 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5 stars. The unit is outdated and not as clean as I would have liked. It did serve it's purpose though and the view was second to none! Having a washer/dryer was a nice convenience, along with 3 bedrooms/bathrooms. Numerous things within the unit broke but the reality company did their best to fix what they could. While the view was amazing, the people with fireworks at 11pm were not. Sounded like a bomb going off while trying to sleep. Location is great with many options for restaurants and activities if you need a break from the beach. The pool is small but served it's purpose. Not sure we would come back to this specific location next time we are planning a beach trip to the area.
