Music on Main Concert Series 2023

For those who enjoy listening to live music outdoors be sure to mark your calendars now for the 2023 Music on Main Concert Series in North Myrtle Beach. The concert series are underway every Thursday night from 7-9 p.m. at the following locations:

Come out and enjoy an evening spent with family and friends listening and dancing to live music under the stars. Weekly through Sept. 28th a different band will be performing family-friendly music.

Here you and your family will be able to climb aboard a trolley that will take you through some of Myrtle Beach’s oldest areas. You will also visit the Pine Lakes Country Club and Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum all while learning some history too. After the trolley you will be able to enjoy some of the shops and dining that happen to be at The Market Common. What a fun day to spend with the family all while learning more about Myrtle Beach!

South Carolina Restaurant Week at Tidewater Grill & Bistro

Beginning on January 12th through 22nd your family will be able to participate in Restaurant Week in South Carolina. You can visit both locations of Tidewater Grill and Bistro where you’ll be able to enjoy a 3-Course Chef’s Tasting Menu. The price per person is $50 but you will receive the following choices:

  • First Course: Baked Crab & Artichoke Dip, Fried Grouper Bites and Thai Style Fried Shrimp
  • Second Course: Chicken Alfredo, Blackened Atlantic Salmon, Prime Bone-in Pork Chop, Calabash Style Fried Shrimp and Shrimp Scampi
  • Third Course: Key Lime Pie, New York Style Cheesecake with Strawberries or Chocolate Brownie A La Mode

This can be a great date lunch or a great way to experience some of the food around town that you won’t want to miss.

2023 Grand Strand Boat & Sportsman Expo

This year bring the family to the 2023 Grand Strand Boat & Sportsman Expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. If you have ever considered purchasing a boat for your family to use on your next vacation or to use at home, this is the event for you! Not only will you be able to check out some pretty amazing boats, but you can also check out other outdoor equipment like kayaks, paddle boards and more. Admission into the event is $10 per adult, $8 per senior, $5 for children & Free for children under 3. The hours of the event are from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday; 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Did you know that leap year happens only every 4 years? Come celebrate in the Inaugural Leap Frog 5K happening on Saturday, February 29th at 9:00 am. It will be held at Barefoot Landing is one that you don’t want to miss! Don’t want to run the 5K? No problem because there will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run for the family to enjoy. After the race, Lulu’s will be providing the post-race snack and there will be an oyster roast at 11:00 am. Some of the race proceeds will be donated to the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society.

Come and help celebrate the 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K race this year happening at the Market Common. The race begins at 7:30 am and each runner will receive a race shirt and a post-run breakfast from Bojangles. If you don’t think that you will be able to complete the 3.1 miles, then why not do the 1-mile run. What a great way to get in your daily steps or exercise while you are on vacation.  

It’s a Flyover

The 10th Annual Salute from the Shore will be happening on the 4th of July and will take off from Cherry Grove around 1:00 pm. This is something that the armed forces do to help celebrate the birth of our country. They will be flying from Cherry Grove all the way to Hilton Head Island. Don’t miss this fun event that is free for everyone to enjoy as they fly over the beach.

Local Events Taking Place During Bike Week
The Myrtle Beach Bike Week Festival brings thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to the Grand Strand of South Carolina each year. This Spring Rally marks the 79th anniversary of the annual event being held from May 11-20, 2018 this year. It’s 10 days full of rides, tours, special events, racing, lots of entertainment and plenty of special deals at local businesses.

The 13th annual Mayfest on Main Festival will be held on May 12 on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach. The festival, which lasts from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m, offers live entertainment, arts & crafts, food, a children’s area, street entertainment and much more. Bring a chair and your dancing shoes to enjoy the free concerts.

You just can’t come to the area and not attend the 37th annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 19 and 20 at the waterfront in Little River. This is one of the largest festivals in the Southeast with more than 50,000 people in attendance. It features approximately 300 fine arts and crafts vendors, specialty food vendors, tremendous entertainment and a phenomenal children’s area.

 

 

Where to Celebrate St. Patty’s Day in North Myrtle

The 30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade will be held on Main Street, Saturday, March 17, 2018 starting at 9 a.m. This one-day, rain or shine event brings approximately 30,000 people to celebrate being Irish and welcomes the arrival of Spring.
 
Where to celebrate St. Patricks Day in NMB
The parade begins on Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by live music on three stages and a children’s area with rides and amusements from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will also be approximately 150 vendors set up along Main Street in North Myrtle Beach displaying their crafts, services, information, products, and a variety of treats.

Admission and parking at this event is free. Grab some beach chairs and the family and come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us!

Parade & Festival Contests

Do you enjoy competitions? Show off your love of all things Irish by competing in the 30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival Leprechaun Contest. Entries are judged on originality, creativity, appearance, enthusiasm and energy.

Register at the Main Stage @ Flynn’s Irish Tavern before 2 p.m. Pre-registration is also available at the Festival Information booth (corner of Hillside Drive and Main Street) before 1:30 p.m. Meet at the stairs of the Main Stage on festival site at 2 p.m. Contest begins at 2:15 p.m.

Enter into the Shepherd’s Pie Eating Contest at this year’s festival. The first person to clear their plate without using their hands wins bragging rights and a stylish plaque designed by Coastal Engravers.

Parade & Festival Parking

Spectators gathering to watch the parade should be in place by 8:20 a.m. Main Street will close to traffic promptly at 8:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 8:50 a.m.
 Ocean Boulevard will be open to vehicular traffic until 8:30 a.m. and is expected to reopen around 11:30 a.m., immediately following the parade. Main Street from Ash Street to Ocean Blvd. will remain closed after the parade and become the festival area. For more information on festival parking check out the NMB Park & Rec website.

When you’re looking for things to do on vacation be sure to check out SummerFest at Barefoot Landing through September 2, 2017.
 
The summer long event features live entertainment in various locations throughout the center every night. There are local acoustic musicians, as well as returning favorites from years past.
 
On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights beginning at 7 p.m., guests can enjoy everyone’s favorite comedic entertainer, Nick Pike, in Lakeside Village, near the carousel and Castano’s Italian Restaurant. He’ll perform with juggling, riding his unicycle and spinning a joke or two to keep the whole family in stitches. Nick was a semi-finalist from “America’s Got Talent.”
 
Friday nights will feature Kid’s Karaoke with Larry Tanelli.
 
On Saturday nights, characters from well-known movies and popular shows will be available for photos and meet and greets with guests.
 
Beginning at 7 p.m. every night Jazz saxophonist Don Colton, steel drummers John Mastroberti and Justin Matthews, and guitarist Chris Elswick will perform by TBonz Gill & Grill as well as other locations.
 
There will also be face painting and a variety of strolling entertainment, including the Shoreline Brass Band, which will perform on select nights.
 
Every Monday night at 9:30 there will be a spectacular fireworks show not to be missed.
