The annual “Lighting of the Menorah,” we take place at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 – the first night of Hanukkah – in Valor Memorial Garden at The Market Common, with Rabbi David Weissman.

Recently Hurricane Matthew closed many of the golf courses in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area. Some areas such as Conway, Socastee, and along the Waccamaw River are still dealing with the rising flood waters on a daily basis. This year’s annual Chilympics Chili Cook-Off will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Hot Fish Club, King Street Grille, and Morse Park in Murrells Inlet. $1 sample tickets will be sold for chili. Beer from New South Brewing Company will also be available for purchase. There will be a fabulous line-up of live bands for your enjoyment. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. This event draws thousands of residents and visitors to raise money for the Grand Strand Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, and has become a staple of Grand Strand events. Participants and attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable or canned food item to support the efforts of South Strand Helping Hand.

Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival on Saturday October 15, 2016
This exciting new culinary event at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk celebrates the virtually endless local seafood restaurants in the greater Myrtle Beach area from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15! Sweet Reggae Sundays will have their grand finale on Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, September 4, at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. Come out and enjoy live reggae music, a charity raffle, and more on The Deck.
